“ Vegans and Jains don’t get excited about food. They get excited about the fact that they’ve triumphed over their desire to harm others for the sake of a meal. They are absolutely enthused that an entire being won’t have to die in order for them to survive. They are thrilled that they can feel the compassion for the tiniest of animals, insects or even plants. They are not vegan for the sake of being popular with the hipsters. They’re vegan because compassion is awesome. Thinking out loud (via yummyvegan)
